Yes, go to the Home page of the application. Touch the tools icon on the bottom menu bar. In the settings menu you will be able to toggle between Meters and Miles and Fahrenheit and Celsius.
On the Android version, you may also choose between an arrow icon and a dot with error cloud to represent your position on the map.
There are three possible reasons for this:
• Inaccurate compass readings
• Inaccurate position location
• Poor data – the incorrect latitude/longitude coordinates may be associated with the object in the database.
Make sure your GPS and compass are on and that Search Direction and Location Accuracy readings seem accurate. Recalibrate your compass. Do this by making a figure 8 in the air while holding your phone.

Channels availability is based on location. If you have moved to a very different location (perhaps another city) your channel may not be available there.
• No Coverage
GeoVector World Surfer communicates using your phone or WiFi network. If you see a “Data Error Check Coverage , Click to Retry” message this means that you do not have adequate communication in place to run the application. Please move to a spot with stronger coverage and retry your search.
• No Results
GeoVector World Surfer is searching for objects in the direction you are pointing your phone. It’s possible that there are no objects in that direction which match your category selection. Try turning directional searching off to see a list of all objects around you.
World Surfer offers information provided by a number of content companies. These companies are responsible for the accuracy of the data they offer. Sometimes you will find that these data bases may be out of date.
If you wish to get a good GPS fix then go somewhere where the GPS quality will drop, you can turn off GPS. The device will remember your last position until you turn GPS back on. Touch the Location/GPS Accuracy indicator to turn GPS off.
You can also position yourself using Marks
Yes, World Surfer is an open application which supports plug-in channels. A number of companies are working on content channels for GeoVector World Surfer now. When they are available in your area, new channels will automatically become options within World Surfer.

No, this application was designed especially for use by pedestrians. The magnetic environment within the vehicle can disrupt the accuracy of the search results. Moreover, you might get distracted and have an accident!
Absolutely. Just turn off your Direction feature.
On the Android version, the search direction button is on the bottom menu bar. The 360 Search Option is represented by a List icon in the upper right on the iPhone application.
Just touch the appropriate icon to turn diretional searching off.
When you want to search by direction again, touch "Search Direction " on Android devices and the compass icon on your iPhone. You can tap this on or off anytime throughout the application.
Google limits searches to the nearest 32 objects. In some cases these will not be in the direction of your search. World Surfer accesses the 32 nearest Google results and then presents you with those which are in your selected direction.
World Surfer only offers the free text search as a short cut in channels which have various categories. Free text search in a channel such as Wikipedia would be unnecessary.
Camera View requires that you are running World Surfer on a device which has a compass like the 3GS.
After you have selected your object of interest, hold the phone horizontally and camera view augmented reality mode will engage automatically.
